Stella McCartney's 'Nude' OK'd Amid Trademark Feud

Law360, New York (August 20, 2009, 3:34 PM EDT) -- A U.K. court has given the go-ahead for the release of a new Stella McCartney perfume called Stella Nude despite an ongoing trademark infringement lawsuit by rival cosmetics company Nude Brands Ltd. over the use of the term “nude.”

Judge Christopher Floyd of the English High Court rejected Nude’s bid Thursday for an interim injunction to prevent the launch of the new scent by Stella McCartney Ltd., YSL Beaute Ltd. and L'Oréal SA. McCartney is the daughter of former Beatle Paul McCartney.
