Feds Fine DuPont Entity Over '02 Chemical Explosion

Law360, New York (August 21, 2009, 1:44 PM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors have fined DuPont Co. entity First Chemical Corp. $731,000 in a deal that ends an investigation into a 2002 explosion at the company's Mississippi chemical manufacturing complex, which spewed flaming debris and shot a six-ton chunk of building 1,500 feet into the pond of a neighboring refinery.
