FDA Clears Silicone Breast Implant Maker Of Wrongdoing

Law360, New York (October 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration cleared a silicone breast implant manufacturer of committing any wrongdoing after reviewing allegations by a former employee that the company withheld data on the safety of the implants, the FDA said Thursday.

The advocacy group Public Citizen, formed by former Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader, has been campaigning against silicone breast implants for years.
