LadaTech Sues Illumina Over DNA Analysis Patent

Law360, New York (August 24, 2009, 2:05 PM EDT) -- LadaTech LLC has filed suit against Illumina Inc. for allegedly infringing a recently confirmed patent related to genome analysis technology.

The complaint, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, claims Illumina’s DNA sequencing products, instrumentation and services unlawfully incorporate analytical methods protected by a LadaTech patent.

According to the complaint, Illumina’s system for genetic analysis and DNA sequencing kits infringe U.S. Patent Number 6,107,023, titled “DNA amplification and subtraction techniques.”
