FDA Moves Closer To Regulating Tobacco

Law360, New York (August 25, 2009, 7:10 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday moved one step closer to regulating tobacco following landmark legislation in June that gave it this new authority.

In the wake of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, the agency will establish the Tobacco Products Scientific Advisory Committee and requested nominations for members.
