EPA Announces Steps To Combat Lead Poisoning

Law360, New York (August 26, 2009, 5:17 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced new initiatives to protect U.S. consumers from lead poisoning, which include proposed tougher restrictions on lead-based paint products.

The EPA said Wednesday it would take a series of steps to increase protections and raise awareness of lead-based products, which will also include a renewed effort to ban the use of lead in tire weights.
