On July 1, the Taxpayer First Act — which attempts to redesign the Internal Revenue Service to better serve taxpayers — became law. Although many of the act’s provisions focus on lower-income, individual taxpayers, there are a handful of provisions of which all taxpayers should be aware. We discuss them below.
