Ex-Koch Staffer Gets Top DOI Atty Post Amid Perjury Claims

Law360 (September 24, 2019, 11:21 PM EDT) -- The Republican majority in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday confirmed Daniel Jorjani as the U.S. Department of the Interior's top lawyer, despite Democrats' claims that Jorjani lied to legislators about his involvement in a controversial public records proposal at the agency.

All 51 Republican members of the Senate voted to confirm Jorjani, who worked for several years at Koch brothers-related organizations and volunteered for President Donald Trump's campaign before being hired by the DOI in 2017 as principal deputy solicitor. All Democrats either abstained or opposed the confirmation.
