Satisloh Loses Bid To Dismiss Gerber Patent Spat

Law360, New York (September 4, 2009, 6:03 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused Satisloh AG's request to dismiss an infringement suit Gerber Scientific Inc. brought against it, ruling that the plaintiff has standing to claim ownership of a patent related to opthalmic lens generating technology.

In a decision filed Sept. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, Judge Peter C. Dorsey denied Satisloh's argument that there are breaks in the chain of Gerber's claimed title to the patent-in-suit that would render its infringement allegations invalid.
