Spansion Wants Brakes Put On German Samsung Suit

Law360, New York (September 8, 2009, 4:54 PM EDT) -- Spansion Inc. has asked a bankruptcy judge to put a halt to a patent infringement suit filed against it in Germany by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. over the manufacture and sale of flash memory chips, citing the automatic stay in the technology company's bankruptcy proceedings.

In a motion filed Friday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Spansion asked the court to enforce the automatic stay to halt Samsung's suit, filed in Duesseldorf, Germany, at the end of July.
