Jury Says Axiom Infringed Electrotherapy Patent

Law360, New York (September 10, 2009, 2:08 PM EDT) -- Siding with a Germany-based pain management company, a federal jury has found that Axiom Worldwide Inc. has infringed under the doctrine of equivalents a patent for electrical stimulation approved in Europe as a treatment for osteoarthritis.

The jury, however, determined that Axiom had not directly infringed the patent-in-suit, owned by Hako-Med USA Inc., according to a verdict filed electronically Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
