Continental Casualty Targeted Over Asbestos Claims

Law360, New York (September 10, 2009, 5:46 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has given a trust leave to file an amended complaint against Continental Casualty Co. to recover damages in connection with asbestos claims.

Judge Arthur Tarnow of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan ruled Wednesday the Federal-Mogul U.S. Asbestos Personal Injury Trust could file the complaint, addressing the scope of Continental's obligation to pay defense costs for claims arising from Vellumoid products.
