Va. Supreme Court Justice Nominated To 4th Circ.

Law360, New York (September 15, 2009, 3:52 PM EDT) -- Justice Barbara Milano Keenan of the Virginia Supreme Court has been nominated by President Barack Obama to fill one of five vacancies on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Justice Keenan has served on Virginia's high court since 1991 and was the first person to serve at all four levels of the state's judicial system. She became the first female judge in Virginia when she was elected to the General District Court of Fairfax County in 1980.
