Suez, GDF Merger To Get E.U. Approval: Report

Law360 (October 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has reportedly decided to give energy company Suez SA’s planned takeover of Gaz de France its blessing and pave the way for the controversial deal to be accomplished.

As both companies have offered to divest prime assets, they have satisfied the E.C.’s competition concerns, Agence France-Presse reported, citing anonymous sources.
