Twitter Sued Over User Posing As Energy Co. Oneok

Law360, New York (September 15, 2009, 7:50 PM EDT) -- Oil and gas producer Oneok Inc. has lashed out at Twitter for allowing someone else to use the username “Oneok” on its popular microblogging Web site, claiming that Twitter’s failure to reassign the name constitutes trademark infringement.

Tulsa-based Oneok filed a complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma accusing Twitter of direct and contributory trademark infringement.
