Simpson Thacher Reveals Extent Of Stanford's 'Varsity Blues'

Law360 (December 4, 2019, 5:40 PM EST) -- The mastermind behind the "Varsity Blues" college admission scandal tried to recruit seven coaches at Stanford into his scheme, but only one took him up on the offer, according to an investigation conducted at the school's behest by Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.

In a statement put out Tuesday, Stanford University president Marc Tessier-Lavigne wrote that his elite college had generally scored well on the Simpson Thacher report, but said there was still plenty of room for improvement.
