Insurers Protest La. Bid To Remand Hurricane Claims

Law360, New York (September 16, 2009, 12:58 PM EDT) -- Allstate Insurance Co. and a host of other insurance companies are protesting Louisiana’s attempt to remand to state court claims related to The Road Home program, begun in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita to temporarily cover homeowners for property damage.

On Tuesday, the insurer defendants filed a motion to enforce a stay of the proceedings currently taking place, arguing that the state’s recent motion to remand the subrogation claims is premature.
