Ind. Teachers Continue Fight Over MetLife Options

Law360, New York (September 17, 2009, 2:39 PM EDT) -- A group of Indiana public school teachers has appealed the dismissal of a putative securities fraud class action alleging Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. conspired with a subsidiary of the Indiana State Teachers Association to rig retirement options in the insurer's favor.

The appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit comes after the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana in August granted bids by MetLife and ISTA Financial Services Corp. to throw out the suit, which alleges that MetLife paid...
