EBay, Investors Infringing Tech: Skype Founders

Law360, New York (September 17, 2009, 4:24 PM EDT) -- Founders of Skype Technologies SA have sued the Internet calling giant's current owner eBay Inc. and investors slated to pay $2.75 billion for a majority stake in the business, alleging copyright infringement of technology for peer-to-peer software.

Joltid Ltd., which is owned by Skype founders Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom, who sold the company to the online auctioneer for $2.6 billion in 2005, sued Skype, eBay and the investors on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
