PPA MDL Plaintiffs' Lawyers Divvy Up $15.5M

Law360, New York (September 21, 2009, 4:47 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Seattle has given a green light to a $15.5 million payday for attorneys who did common benefit work for the plaintiffs in multidistrict phenylpropanolamine product liability litigation that took aim at defendants including Novartis Corp. and Bayer Corp.

Judge Barbara Rothstein of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington signed off on an order Sept. 18 granting a petition from the common benefit fee committee that sought an award of about $15.5 million in fees and costs.
