Ford Seeks To Halt Customs In Drawback Feud

Law360, New York (September 21, 2009, 1:19 PM EDT) -- Ford Motor Co. has urged a court to enjoin the U.S. from continuing to review and liquidate outdated drawback claims the car company insists have already been liquidated, in a suit aiming to prevent the government from reclaiming import refunds.

Ford sought an injunction Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, arguing that U.S. Customs and Border Protection has hastened to unlawfully liquidate the drawback claims at issue, already issuing more than $83,000 in duty bills.
