Contractor Fails To Get $47M Suit Against Iraq Revived

Law360, New York (September 21, 2009, 4:06 PM EDT) -- Bulgarian agro-industrial contractor Agrocomplect SA has again been denied its attempt to revive a $47 million suit against the government of Iraq over the alleged breach of a construction contract entered in the early 1980s.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Friday denied Agrocomplect's motion to vacate the judgment against it, and for leave to file a second amended complaint, ruling that Agrocomplect would have to initiate a separate lawsuit.
