Facebook Sued Over Privacy Settings Patent

Law360, New York (September 22, 2009, 7:24 PM EDT) -- Social networking giant Facebook Inc. has been hit with an infringement suit from software developer WhoGlue Inc. over a patent for technology that allows users of online social networks to control their individual privacy settings.

WhoGlue — which is partially owned by electronics and engineering firm Siemens, according to its attorney — filed the lawsuit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. WhoGlue is asking for an unspecified amount of damages and an injunction preventing Facebook from continuing the alleged infringement....
