Md. Franchisees Sue Exxon Over Sale Of Stores

Law360, New York (September 23, 2009, 2:35 PM EDT) -- More than 50 Exxon Mobil Corp. franchisees in Maryland have sued the gas giant, seeking to stop the refiner from selling off their franchise agreements to middlemen who they fear will drive them out of business.

In their complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the 53 plaintiffs said they wanted an injunction against Exxon barring it from selling off their properties or transferring their agreements to nonrefiners.
