Seafood Cos. Fail To Net Valdez Punitive Damages

Law360, New York (September 24, 2009, 5:11 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has decided not to rehear a case that two seafood processors brought in an attempt to collect punitive damages, along with a more than $8 million settlement, for harm suffered due to the Exxon Valdez oil spill.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit denied the processors' petition for a panel rehearing and its petition for a rehearing en banc, as well as the processors' motion to supplement the record as to the en banc petition.
