Ariz. Chemical Co. To Pay $1.2M For River Cleanup

Law360, New York (September 24, 2009, 6:41 PM EDT) -- Arizona-based chemical manufacturer Apache Nitrogen Products Inc. agreed Thursday to pay the U.S. government $1.2 million to settle a suit over cleanup of waste from an industrial plant that polluted the San Pedro River.

The federal government and the Benson, Ariz.-based company filed the consent decree to end the case just one day after the U.S. filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.
