Shell Seeks Judgment In Drawback Suit Against US

Law360, New York (September 25, 2009, 6:29 PM EDT) -- Shell Oil Co. is seeking summary judgment in a lawsuit alleging the U.S. government improperly withheld taxes and processing fees when issuing drawbacks for numerous oil shipments bound for export.

On Friday, Shell urged Judge Delissa A. Ridgway of the U.S. Court of International Trade to drop the curtain on the dispute about the inadequacy of drawbacks the oil giant received on imports that were liquidated in 1997.
