Neb. Power Cos. Accuse Tri-State Of Price-Gouging

Law360, New York (September 29, 2009, 1:40 PM EDT) -- Five rural electricity retailers in Nebraska have hit Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association Inc. with a breach of contract suit accusing the wholesaler of price-gouging through its monopoly on electricity.

The plaintiffs — Chimney Rock Public Power District, Midwest Electric Cooperative Corp., Northwest Rural Public Power District, Panhandle Rural Electric Membership Association and Roosevelt Public Power District — filed the suit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska.
