Insurer Sues For Asbestos Settlement Deductibles

Law360, New York (September 30, 2009, 2:22 PM EDT) -- The Great American Assurance Co. has sued a plumbing and heating industry supplier after the company allegedly failed to repay deductibles the insurer shelled out to settle asbestos personal injury claims from the 1980s.

In its suit filed Sept. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the insurance broker, formerly known as Agricultural Insurance Co., accused SOS Products Co. Inc. of breach of contract and unjust enrichment after it allegedly failed to reply to written demands that it repay about $54,000....
