Skechers Loses Bid To Nix Roller Skate Injury Suit

Law360, New York (September 30, 2009, 1:27 PM EDT) -- Skechers USA Inc. has lost its bid to dismiss a product liability suit alleging the shoe company sold a customer a pair of defective roller skates that caused her to fall and break her ankle.

Judge Mary S. Scriven of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida concluded Monday that plaintiff Turquoise Brown had adequately pled her claims for negligence, strict liability and breach of the implied warranty of merchantability.
