US Signs Nuclear Energy Pacts With Italy

Law360, New York (October 1, 2009, 3:05 PM EDT) -- U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu has brokered two nuclear energy agreements with the Italian Minister for Economic Development aimed at building nuclear power plants and working in concert on developing advanced nuclear energy systems and fuel cycle technologies.

On Thursday, Chu and Italian Minister Claudio Scajola unveiled the U.S.-Italy Joint Declaration Concerning Industrial and Commercial Cooperation in the Nuclear Energy Sector, which pledges both countries' dedication to building nuclear power plants.
