Penumbra Recalls Another Make Of Catheter

Law360, New York (October 1, 2009, 4:29 PM EDT) -- Medical device maker Penumbra Inc. is initiating a recall of a potentially fatal type of neural catheter several weeks after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an urgent recall of one of the company's other catheter products.

Penumbra is notifying potential users, mainly hospitals, that it is initiating a voluntary field removal to stop use of the original version of its Neuron 6F 070 delivery catheter after some users reported that part of it can break and remain lodged in a patient, causing medical complications...
