State Bar Urged To Probe Firm Over "Kickbacks"

Law360, New York (October 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An advocacy group has asked the West Virginia State Bar to investigate allegations that law firm Curry & Tolliver PLLC offered people up to $10,000 to become plaintiffs in a medical malpractice suit against a local hospital.

The Center for Individual Freedom, which lobbies for legal reforms, said Friday that it hoped the bar would take the kickback allegations seriously rather than protect its own members.
