Novartis Plaintiffs Look To 6th Circ. For Help

Law360, New York (October 6, 2009, 3:58 PM EDT) -- A group of plaintiffs whose suits were dismissed from the multidistrict litigation involving Novartis Pharmaceutical Corp.’s bone cancer drugs Aredia and Zometa are taking their cases to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in hopes of a different outcome.

The Sixth Circuit was scheduled to hear oral arguments Tuesday in eight suits in which U.S. District Judge Todd J. Campbell granted Novartis summary judgment in a few of the myriad of suits that allege the medications lead to a condition involving jaw deterioration....
