Data Systems Maker Brocade Looking To Sell: Reports

Law360, New York (October 5, 2009, 7:23 PM EDT) -- U.S. data systems maker Brocade Communications Systems Inc. has put itself up for sale, and several major players in the competitive tech sector already have begun sniffing around, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

Hewlett-Packard Co. and Oracle Corp. are the most prominent technology companies rumored to be looking into picking up Brocade, according to the report.

San Jose, Calif.-based Brocade has a market capitalization of about $3.8 billion and an enterprise value of around $4.1 billion, according to market research firm CapitalIQ. The company reported...
