Mass. Court Orders Wal-Mart To Pay $1M In Bias Suit

Law360, New York (October 5, 2009, 6:22 PM EDT) -- The high court in Massachusetts has reinstated a jury's $1 million punitive damages award to a former Wal-Mart Stores Inc. pharmacist who claimed she was underpaid because of her sex and fired for seeking better wages.

On Monday, the Supreme Judicial Court for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts overturned a judge's order that had vacated a jury's punitive damages award to former Wal-Mart worker Cynthia Haddad.
