DOJ Throws Support Behind Patent Disclosure

Law360 (October 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has decided not to challenge a proposal set forth by a computer standard-setting organization aiming to establish a policy on the disclosure and licensing of patents.

The DOJ revealed Monday that it has decided to support the suggestion advanced by the VMEbus International Trade Association requiring the disclosure of essential patents claims in the VMEbus computer architecture field.
