5th Circ. Tosses Katrina Canal Breach Suits

Law360, New York (October 7, 2009, 4:20 PM EDT) -- Two lawsuits against a Louisiana parish, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and several other defendants over property damage from flooding that occurred after the New Orleans levee breaches during Hurricane Katrina have been dismissed by an appeals court, which ruled a lower court lacked jurisdiction over the suits.
