EPA To Eye Effect Of Pesticide Atrazine On Humans

Law360, New York (October 7, 2009, 2:43 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced it will undertake a yearlong process to evaluate the pesticide atrazine in hopes of reaching more concrete conclusions about its effects on humans.

The EPA will call on the independent Scientific Advisory Panel to assist in analyzing studies that could point to potential correlations between atrazine and health risks including birth defects, low birth weight and premature births, the agency said in a statement Wednesday.
