Electrochem Hit With $21.7M Verdict In Secrets Case

Law360, New York (October 8, 2009, 4:16 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana jury has awarded ION Geophysical Corp. $21.7 million in lost profits in a suit claiming Electrochem Solutions Inc. stole its trade secrets after a failed business collaboration, both companies said Thursday.

The jury returned the verdict on Oct. 1 in the 24th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson in the State of Louisiana.

Electrochem Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of technology company Greatbatch Inc., will pay ION $21,733,411 in damages. Additionally, ION claims that it will be entitled to recover attorneys' fees,...
