Unomedical Pulls Potentially Lethal Resuscitators

Law360, New York (October 8, 2009, 5:10 PM EDT) -- Medical device maker Unomedical Inc. has voluntarily recalled some of its single-use manual pulmonary resuscitators because of a potential malfunction that could hurt or kill patients.

The Denmark-based company on Monday issued the worldwide recall, which affects about 435 lots of the device manufactured between July 2002 and March 2008.

According to Unomedical, the recalled resuscitators have a defect that could interfere with the devices' ability to generate enough pressure to function properly.
