Corporate Patent Attorneys Out-Earn Peers: Survey

Law360 (October 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Corporate attorneys with patent expertise earned salaries well above the national norms in 2006, according to a survey of U.S. lawyers’ compensation released Tuesday.

The survey also revealed that every position in in-house law departments saw a salary increase this year.

The 2006 Altman Weil Law Department Compensation Benchmarking Survey discovered that all positions in law departments across the country increased between 2.2% and 9.5% this year. However, for non-management positions, practice specialty significantly affected attorney’s earning power.
