As Prices Are Slashed, Drug Makers Eye German Law

Law360 (November 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A recently enacted German law has the country’s drug makers gearing up for a new round of price cuts in a move that could also have wide-ranging implications on multinational pharmaceutical companies’ bids to market medicines in Germany.

Starting on Wednesday, a new batch of prescription drugs – comprised mostly of generics but also including certain patent-protected medicines – will be subject to legislation meant to help the country trim health care spending.
