RheTech Knocks Ex-Worker With Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (October 14, 2009, 5:04 PM EDT) -- Polypropylene compound maker RheTech Inc. has sued a former employee for stealing trade secrets and patenting a wood-plastic composite he helped develop while under contract with the company.

In a suit lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on Tuesday, RheTech accuses Robert Joyce of stealing a working draft of a utility patent application the company was preparing and using the document to prepare and file his own, unauthorized application claiming the composite compound as his own.
