Member Sues Power Co-Op Over Pricing Scheme

Law360, New York (October 15, 2009, 2:13 PM EDT) -- Power distribution cooperative People's Electric Cooperative has sued a generation and transmission cooperative to which it belongs, Western Farmers Electric Cooperative, alleging it planned to charge different electricity prices to different members and tried to monopolize the Oklahoma electricity market.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, PEC alleges that WFEC announced a plan earlier this year that would charge PEC and another WFEC member much higher rates for electricity than the rest of the members....
