Jury Awards Family $13.5M In Lasko Fan Fire Suit

Law360, New York (October 15, 2009, 4:05 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania state court jury has found that portable fan manufacturer Lasko Products Inc. should pay $13.5 million to the family of a 7-year-old Philadelphia boy who was killed in a 2005 fire caused by a faulty box fan.

After an investigation by the city's fire marshal pointed to a Lasko fan as the catalyst for the fire,a the family of Joshua Foster sued the company on breach of warranty and strict liability claims lodged in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in April 2007....
