Kanjorksi Unveils Bills To Bolster Investor Protections

Law360, New York (October 16, 2009, 12:57 PM EDT) -- Rep. Paul E. Kanjorski, D-Pa., has submitted two bills that build on the Obama administration's plan for financial regulatory reform by boosting resources and authority for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and bringing new scrutiny to private fund investment advisers.

Kanjorski, who chairs the House Financial Services subcommittee on capital markets, insurance and government-sponsored enterprises, formally introduced the Investor Protection Act and Private Fund Investment Advisers Registration Act on Thursday after passing draft language around Capitol Hill for debate earlier this month.
