Cydsa Vows To Fight For Mexichem Deal

Law360, New York (October 16, 2009, 6:34 PM EDT) -- Mexican chemical company Cydsa SAB has suffered a blow in its bid to sell off its PVC resin unit to Mexichem SAB, but says it will fight antitrust objections in an effort to win approval for the deal.

Cydsa said in a filing Friday with the Mexican Stock Exchange that the country's Federal Competition Commission, or CFC, had blocked the proposed transaction, but that the company would challenge the decision.
