US, Maldives Sign Treaty To Promote Trade, Investment

Law360, New York (October 19, 2009, 12:38 PM EDT) -- The U.S. has inked a trade and investment framework agreement with the island nation of the Maldives, a move that will provide the nations with a forum to discuss ways to promote bilateral trade and investment.

Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for South and Central Asia Michael Delaney and the Maldives Minister for Economic Development Mohamed Rasheed signed the agreement in Male, the Maldives capital, over the weekend.
