ArcelorMittal Is Hiking Prices In S. Africa: Canners

Law360, New York (October 19, 2009, 7:46 PM EDT) -- ArcelorMittal SA reportedly is facing a formal complaint from a South African canning association that claims the steel giant has excessively raised prices for tinplates this year.

The South African Fruit and Vegetable Canners Association announced Monday that it has filed a formal complaint with South Africa’s Department of Trade and Industry against ArcelorMittal’s South African arm, ArcelorMittal South Africa Ltd., for its “excessive” increase in tinplate places, Dow Jones reported.
